An AI Painting System Built for Second Life

Art Inspiration System (AIS) is an in-world AI painting system. You touch the easel, describe the artwork you imagine, and a real AI image generator creates a unique, high-resolution painting just for you. The finished piece appears on a canvas you can display anywhere in Second Life.

Each painting is yours alone — no two are alike. Name it, resize it, participate in weekly contests, and build a personal gallery that reflects your creativity and imagination.

From Idea to Canvas in Minutes

Describe Your Painting Choose a mode and enter your vision. Most paintings generate in 30–90 seconds.

Sit to Reveal Sit on the easel stool to start the reveal timer. You must remain seated while the timer counts down, but you can split it across multiple sessions.

Extract to Canvas Touch the easel and choose a nearby [AIS] Canvas you own. The painting is yours to display.

Getting Started
What is Art Inspiration System?
Art Inspiration System (AIS) is an in-world AI painting studio for Second Life. You touch the easel, describe what you want, and a real AI image generator creates a unique painting for you. The finished piece appears on your easel canvas and can be moved to any [AIS] Canvas object you own.
How do I start?
Simply touch the easel in-world. A menu will appear with options for how you'd like to create your painting. Follow the prompts — the whole process takes just a minute or two.
Do I need credits?
Yes. Each painting costs 1 credit. You can purchase credits at the main store. Your current credit balance is always shown at the top of the menu when you touch the easel.
Creation Modes
What is "Quick Create"?
You enter a subject — what the painting is about — and the AI fills in everything else (style, mood, colours, setting). It's the fastest way to get a painting. Great for when you have a clear idea of the subject but want the AI to be creative with the rest.
What is "Guided"?
Guided walks you through each creative choice step by step: format (square, tall, or wide), AI model, subject, art style, mood, colour palette, and setting. Each step has preset options plus a "Custom" entry and a "Skip" to let the AI decide. It gives you the most control over the final result.
What is "Own Words"?
You type a free-form description in your own words — anything you like. There are two text boxes so you can write up to about 1,000 characters. Use it when you have a very specific vision that doesn't fit neatly into the guided options.
What is "Surprise Me!"?
The system picks everything randomly — format, AI model, subject, style, mood, palette, and setting. You'll see a preview of the choices before confirming. Great when you want something unexpected and creative. VIP members get access to more powerful AI models in the random selection.
AI Models
What AI models are available?
The model available to everyone is Flux Schnell — fast and reliable for most subjects. VIP members unlock additional models:

Bronze VIP: Flux Dev
Silver VIP: + Ideogram 3.0, Lucid Origin
Gold VIP: + Nano Banana 2, GPT Image 1.5
Which model should I choose?
Flux Schnell is excellent for most paintings and is the quickest. Ideogram 3.0 excels at typography and stylised illustration. GPT Image 1.5 produces very polished, photorealistic results. Lucid Origin has a distinctive painterly quality. Nano Banana 2 is great for creative, stylised work.
The Painting Process
How long does a painting take?
Most paintings are generated within 30–90 seconds. After the image is generated it needs to be uploaded to Second Life, which can take a few additional minutes depending on server load. The hover text above the easel shows the current status.
What does "Sit to start" mean?
After the painting is uploaded it needs a "sit timer" to process. Sit on the easel stool to start the timer — you must remain seated while it counts down. You do not need to finish in one sitting; you can stand up and return later to continue where you left off. The easel hover text shows your current progress.
What is "Speed Up"?
Once your painting is uploaded and the sit timer is running, a "Speed Up" button appears in the progress menu. It costs 1 additional credit and reduces the remaining sit time significantly.
What happens when the painting is ready?
The easel hover text turns cyan and says "Painting complete. Touch to extract." Touch the easel and choose which [AIS] Canvas nearby you'd like to send the painting to. The canvas must be owned by you and within 20 metres.
VIP Membership
What does VIP membership include?
VIP membership unlocks more powerful AI models for 30 days per purchase:

Bronze: Flux Dev
Silver: All Bronze models + Ideogram 3.0 + Lucid Origin
Gold: All Silver models + Nano Banana 2 + GPT Image‑1.5
How long does VIP last?
Each VIP purchase grants 30 days of membership. You can purchase again before expiry and the days will stack.
Can I see my VIP status?
Yes — your VIP tier and days remaining are shown at the top of the menu every time you touch the easel.
Troubleshooting
My painting says "failed" — what do I do?
Touch the easel and start a new painting. Your credit is refunded automatically if generation fails.
The menu stopped responding — what do I do?
Stand up from the stool (if seated), move a short distance away, then touch the easel again to restart.
I don't see my canvas in the selection list.
Make sure your [AIS] Canvas is within 20 metres of the easel and that you are the owner of the canvas object.
